Reverend Angela Menke Ballou
Pastor
Rev. Angela Menke Ballou is ordained in the United Church of Christ. She has been the Pastor at Cotuit Federated Church since 2011. Her interests and background include storytelling, peace advocacy, and community service. Her interest in peacemaking and justice work have taken her to Northern Ireland, Israel/Palestine, the US/Mexico border, and South Africa.

Her journey to ministry came after her first career as an engineer at Walt Disney World. She attended seminary at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO. While serving as Associate Minister at Second Congregational Church in Beverly, MA, she nurtured a partnership in ministry with the Casa San Jose, an orphanage in Colima, Mexico. In her current role, she is grateful for the ways our congregation partners with Habitat for Humanity on Cape Cod, Faith Neighborhood Kitchen, and Miracle Kitchen to strengthen our local community and serve those most vulnerable.

Rev. Ballou loves adventures — especially in nature — while camping, hiking, and exploring National Parks. She also enjoys Cape Cod where she creates her home with her husband and son.

Megan Anthony
Director of Music
Director of Music, Megan Anthony, moved from Western Mass to Cape Cod in 2005. Involved in music all her life, she received her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her master’s degree in Music Education from Central Connecticut State University.

Megan teaches instrumental music at Nauset Regional Middle School where she directs multiple concert and jazz bands. She is the music director for the Cotuit Federated Church, conducting the choir and handbell choir. Megan is also the Assistant Director of the Falmouth Chorale and participates in several community ensembles and regularly accompanies area high school and community musical theater productions.

Megan says, “I believe CFC is a family where everyone is accepted no matter what their beliefs or backgrounds. The congregation is supportive of the worship team trying new ideas and musical styles. I could not ask for more welcoming home to continue my spiritual journey.”

Lynne Belfiore
Church School Director
Lynne received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State College in 1977. In 1988, she received a Master of Education Degree from Worcester State College. She retired from the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District in 2013 after a career of 36 years, with all but four at the Ezra H. Baker School in South Dennis. During that time, she taught reading, second grade, a second-third grade loop, and reading again for her final two years. She also served in a leadership position as a member of the Dennis-Yarmouth School District’s Curriculum Team for Language Arts.

When she became a mother in 1998, she knew she wanted her family to be part of a community of faith and luckily, she found Cotuit Federated Church. As Director of Education, a position she has held since January 2013, she welcomes children and their families and feels blessed to be a part of children’s faith formation. This role allows her to share her love of learning with the children.

In 2015, she became the owner/operator of Elements, Etc., a business that brings interactive science programs to preschool, classroom, afterschool, family, and community settings across Cape Cod. She is a self-described science nerd and weather geek. Elements, Etc. allows her to connect science with literacy.

In the past, she has served on the Boards of Directors of Cape Cod Child Development and Cape Cod Ski Club. She is currently a member of the Mid-Cape Cultural Council. She has also served as Treasurer for Barnstable High School Sailing Booster’s Club.

Shannon Boon
Administrative Assistant for Ministry
Shannon Boon resides in Teaticket. She comes to Cotuit Federated Church after 13 years as a commercial and residential real estate paralegal in the greater Boston area. She is a widowed mother of four since the passing of her husband Charles in 2018. She has three sons, Isaiah, Terrance, and Riley, and one daughter, Catherine. Shannon has a profound love for Christ that has been strengthened by her work with the church.
Shannon has always enjoyed giving back to her community and has focused on groups that support single moms and low-income families. She loves to bike and can often be found playing in the waves with her daughter Catherine at the Falmouth Heights beach.

Jennifer Loughran
Financial Secretary/Bookkeeper
Jennifer Loughran returned to her home state of Massachusetts in 2016 after living in Connecticut and Texas for more than 30 years. Vacationing every summer on Cape Cod, she always knew that living by the water would be “home” at some point and now resides in Cotuit. After graduating from Bryant University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Jennifer spent 20 years in various human resources and training and development leadership roles in the banking and insurance industries. In 2005, she retired from the corporate world and started down a new path working in the non-profit space. From 2010 – 2021, she co-led the Ron Foley Pancreatic Cancer Foundation as their Executive Vice President and continues to sit on its Board of Directors. In 2019, she joined Barnstable Clean Water Coalition as a project manager to help improve water quality. Jennifer joined the church in 2017 and is on the Building Expansion, Admin and CraftFest teams, as well as co-leading the rummage sale. At the beginning of 2022, she became the Financial Secretary, which has now been combined with the Bookkeeper responsibilities.

Ed Lott
Treasurer
Ed Lott and his wife Amy Fish moved from Connecticut to the Cape in 1997. They were introduced to Cotuit Federated Church by one of Ed’s colleagues and joined the church in 2001. Ed has served on a variety of committees in the last 20 plus years, including finance, budget, mission, and admin. He was also a regular church school teacher for many years. Both of Ed and Amy’s daughter are also members of the church.
Ed graduated from Connecticut College in 1990 with a degree in Mathematical Sciences and Elementary Education. He has worked in private schools for 33 years. The last 27 of those years at Falmouth Academy, where he taught several levels of math, coached a variety of teams, mentored new teachers, was an advisor to a multitude of students, and served as the computer coordinator for the science fair.
When he is not teaching or at church, you are most likely to find Ed on the water in some boat, in the woods walking, or ruining a good walk on a golf course.

Amy Fish
Property Manager
Amy moved to Cape Cod from Connecticut in 1997. Her educational background includes degrees in Earth Science, Spanish, and Education with additional training in Engineering. She has worked as a teacher in several private and public schools on Cape Cod over the past 26 years, and is currently the STEM Specialist at Orleans Elementary School. Amy also owns and operates a bakery called The Sweetest Fish in Mashpee.
Amy has served Cotuit Federated Church in several capacities in the past twenty years, including Church School Director, Moderator, and member of the Building Expansion Team. She is excited to serve the church as Property Manager, especially after watching the expanded building take shape nail by nail. She is thrilled to be able to help maintain and facilitate use of the expanded spaces.
When not teaching, baking, or managing the CFC property, Amy can be found in her garden, at the Kettle Ho, or on the waters of Vineyard Sound and Popponesset Bay.
