Baptisms

"Baptism is both God’s gift and our human response to that gift. It is a sign and seal of our common discipleship. Through baptism, Christians are brought into union with Christ, with each other and with the church of every time and place."

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism is one of two sacraments celebrated in the Cotuit Federated Church. (The other is the Sacrament of Holy Communion.) God's children of all ages are invited to receive the Sacrament. No one is too young or too old to receive this sign of God’s grace and is welcome to receive the love of God.

Those desiring the Sacrament of Baptism are asked to meet with the minister to discuss the meaning and importance of the Sacrament and the way in which the Sacrament will be included in the service of worship before choosing a date.

Weddings

We would be pleased to have you choose our church for your wedding! There are a few things you should know about us however, before you begin making the necessary arrangements to be married at the Cotuit Federated Church.

Our sanctuary, which sits on the Cotuit Village Green, holds a maximum of 120 guests and is perfect for small intimate weddings in a quaint village setting.

Our minister and organist along with other members of the staff will be available to assist you in making decisions related to being married in the church.

All couples who will be married at Cotuit Federated Church are asked to complete premarital counseling with Pastor Nicole.

Receptions may be held in Bruce Hall, the function room of the Cotuit Federated Church, however smoking and the use of alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

There are fees for use of the sanctuary and Bruce Hall.

The church office will provide couples with a fee schedule associated with weddings at Cotuit Federated Church.

Funerals

We at The Cotuit Federated Church offer our sanctuary and our staff to you and your family during this time of sadness. We offer these guidelines to help you make some necessary decisions at this time:

Funeral or Memorial Service? During a Funeral Service the casket is present, and the Funeral Home will contact the Church to make arrangements for the service. During a Memorial Service the urn of ashes may be present, if desired. The service may be scheduled shortly after death or at the convenience of the family.

Scheduling the use of the Church: Prior to making any arrangements, please contact the Church office at 508-428-6163 to arrange for a time for the service. This will assure the Church will be available to meet your needs.

Music: The minister will arrange for an organist unless other music is requested. When planning the service appropriate musical selections will be discussed.
